Abridged Commentary (Part 0 – 32)

Looking at this issue again feels a little disconcerting. We really like the contents but the shape of the photos meant we didn’t have the coherence we usually like. It’s one of our favourite titles though. Lockjaw is an old name for tetanus. The issue is (vaguely) inspired by a John Singer Sargent painting called Lady Agnew of Lochnaw. It’s a brilliant portrait of middle-class confidence on the edge of a precipice. In a couple of decades their world would come spiralling down. Mind you, it kind of feels like we’re on the edge of something now…
