Abridged Commentary (Part 0 – 3)
This was more like it. The paper was still wrong and the layout not exactly inspired but there is a hint of what the Abridged could become. This would be one of the last issues that would feature prose. We never really felt that Abridged was a natural home for prose though of course we have from time to time included essays in particular. Possibly we weren’t sure we’d fill the page with poetry alone. How wrong we were. The cover, by Grainne Finn, remains one of favourites and as is often the case with Abridged quite prophetic.
